Is Reading Bank Alerts Safe? How Contriii Handles Your Financial Privacy

· 1 min read · By the Contriii team

Any app that tracks your spending should earn your trust. Here is a plain account of how Contriii approaches privacy, and a checklist you can use on any finance app.

What Contriii reads

Contriii reads transaction alerts from your bank and payment apps. These alerts include the amount, merchant and date. When access comes through Gmail, it is limited to bank and UPI alerts, not your whole inbox.

What Contriii never does

Settling happens in your own UPI app, under your bank's protection.

What the waitlist site collects

On contriii.com we collect only what you give us: name, email and optionally your WhatsApp number and city. We use anonymous usage events without third-party trackers, and we do not store IP addresses. Read the full privacy page.

A checklist for any finance app

  1. Permissions: does it ask for more than it needs?
  2. PIN or password: if it asks for either, walk away.
  3. Ability to pay: can it move your money? Prefer apps that cannot.
  4. Data deletion: can you delete your data on request?
  5. Business model: how does it make money? Avoid apps that sell your data.

You stay in control

You can always add spends by hand, remove an entry, or leave and ask us to delete your data at support@contriii.com.

Why automatic tracking is worth it

The more accurate your data, the more useful your budgets and trends. See why auto-tracking beats manual entry.
