How to use the bill splitter
Enter the final bill amount, including any tax and tip you agreed to share. Count everyone participating, including whoever paid. The calculator divides the total equally and distributes any remaining paise so the shares add up exactly.
What happens when the bill does not divide evenly?
A ₹1,000 bill split three ways becomes ₹333.34 for one person and ₹333.33 for the other two. Agree who takes the extra paise; the total stays ₹1,000.
Can I use it for rent or a trip?
Yes, for one expense that everyone shares equally. For different room sizes, partial attendance or multiple people paying different bills, use individual shares and a ledger. Our shared expense guide walks through a multi-bill settlement.
Does this send a UPI payment?
No. This calculator only works out shares. Make payments separately through your chosen payment app, and confirm receipt before marking a debt as settled.
